could a hamster get better from wet tail without any medicine or going to the vet?

is it possible that any hamster could get better from wet tail without medicine or going to the vet could he cure himself?
because i think my hamster might have wet tail but i see him trying to clean himself but hes still not running on his wheel and all he does is sleep.

No, he won’t get over it by himself. Wet Tail dehydrates them and basically just takes all of the nutrients they need from their bodies.

There’s an over-the-counter med called Dri-Tail that can work. Personally, I’ve used that a few times and it only worked once. Medicine the vet gives is more likely to work; but that would run you around $60 for the vet visit and the medicine.

But if you aren’t seeing diarrhea around the cage, or your hamster doesn’t have a wet area around it’s tail, Wet Tail probably isn’t the issue.
