You can get a very elegant and sophisticated look for your house with the help of stone veneer that can also increase the value of your home. There are basically several types of veneer but two are most important, manufactured and natural thin veneers.
Manufactured stone is made out of cement, mixed with some natural stone components and dyes to recreate the look of natural stone. Manufactured stone is available in any color or style including products which are made to mimic fieldstone, limestone, granite, river rock and sandstone.
Many people prefer natural thin veneer stone because it is lightweight, natural, economical and environmental friendly. Since it is eye pleasing, many people are choosing this stone while building their house.
Natural Thin Veneer cut ranges from ¾ inch to 11/4 inch compared to full veneer which has cut of 3-5 inch. Thin Veneer is a lightweight stone alternative to Full Veneer. By using this stone you can save money because it has lightweight cut and shape. Other ways to cut costs are it requires less diesel and energy to transport.
Being natural, it is considered a green stone product. It is environmental friendly in nature due to two reasons: requires less fuel and energy to transport and takes less number and concrete to support. It is a good quality product because its color does not fade compared to manufactured stone. Natural stone resists chipping and scratching.

Stone veneer can be installed around a fireplace enclosure, arches in a room, kitchens and in living area. If stone veneer is installed correctly in arches of the room, it gives the impression that the room is actually constructed out of stone, or at least has some stone supporting architectural features. In kitchens, veneer can be installed in kitchen wall or as a backsplash for a sink or under a kitchen island. By installing stone veneer in your kitchen it can increase the value of your home as it is considered one of the best investments for selling the house. This type of stone can look great on accent walls in living area of your house.
