How does the variable speed of light affect our utilzation of E=mc^2?
(If indeed we have confirmed light speed is variable.) Also, how does it affect they way we understand the relationship between energy and matter?
The speed of light is a constant in a vacuum. This is the number that is used in E = MC2. The equation does not apply if you use the speed from conditions other than a vacuum. Remember – matter can neither be created nor destroyed but in can be changed into another form such as energy.
