Hand Pallet Trucks – What are They?
A hand pallet truck is a tool designed to help lift and move pallets. Pallets are the platform that heavy goods are placed on top of, the pallets are usually made from wood but can be made from plastic as well. All companies use pallets for a basis to place their goods on top whether it is food, or white goods, furniture or toys, anything and everything. Hand pallet trucks make the job of lifting and moving the pallets around a lot easier and faster.
How do hand pallet trucks work?
Hand pallet trucks have two forks that are horizontal to the ground attached to the steering handles and the jack. The forks are placed in the pallet and then it is jacked up so it is clear off the ground allowing for the hand pallet truck to be moved around using the steering wheel freely and easily. Great care needs to be taken when using hand pallet trucks as you are dealing with large heavy loads that be dangerous and seriously hurt yourself or others and so it is essential that the proper training is received before using the pallet truck.
Who uses hand pallet trucks?
Hand pallet trucks are widely used in businesses and factories. Any business that moves heavy loads on a consistent basis will need a pallet truck; this involves a very large portion of the businesses out there. Factories also use hand pallet trucks when moving goods, whether this is moving goods into the vans ready for dispatch or moving heavy machinery or large amounts of goods from one room within the factory to another. Hand pallet trucks are not only used by large corporate organizations but by smaller businesses as well. Small shops, café and restaurants use hand pallet trucks to move their heavy food goods from one area to another for example unloading the vans of produce.
