Texture Sprayer

Any Pro painters out there that can tell me why I am getting “lap marks” from spraying high quality int. latex?
Here’s what I am doing: Priming with PVA new sheetrock primer, two coats of top of the line interior latex paint. On walls or ceilings where light reflects off them, you can clearly see the “lap marks” from each course of the sprayer.
I have been painting for 30 years and am stumped. This problem seems to have started about 4 to 6 years ago when ever I am painting over smooth (no texture) sheetrock with bright, bold colors using top of the line paint. I have tried every tip size they make, from every distance from the wall, Vertical, horizontal, both, varied the pressure, and still, lap marks. I don’t have time to do too much experimenting, so I have simply resorted to rolling out the walls and ceilings that are the worse. and ideas?
You’ve been painting for 30 years ….you are a professional and obviously know your work so I don’t know if anyone can really offer any useful advise that you haven’t already tried.
My first thought was a tip problem….. but obviously you have tried different tips.
My second thought was paint ….satin or sheens are most likely to show lap problems.
Surface is also a consideration…..the smoother the surface the more overlap will show ….painting continually between breaking points will help, but they are not always available……… in such cases try a continual spray line from one end of the wall to the other without lapping. This kind of goes against typical spraying….. but it seems to work.
