Can you switch the colors on the Macbook white?
I want to get an apple macbook, but the only ones in my area are white. So if i find a way to get a black shell for it, can i change the colors from White to black?
No. The new white ones have different layout of the guts and different screens. So trying to use one of the old Black MacBooks won’t work. The hardware you’re talking about is just too different now. At least if you want to do it simply.
You might be able to do a mod of the black one to suit the guts of the new ones, but that’s some sketchy territory you’re crossing into. It depends how hands-on you or someone you know is with modifying computers. I’m not talking about minor hardware upgrades, you’re talking about possibly needing to reshape a chassis.
If you really don’t like the White color, I think you’re better off looking for some custom designed stickers out there that are like full body stickers. Then you could change the look that way. I think that’s a far more likely scenario for you. Look up something like gelaskins.com
