MBM Destroyit 4002 Cross Cut Paper Shredder – DSH0393 Review

- A powerful single phase motor runs the 4002 and is rated for sustained use. The engine uses a sturdy twin drive system and is double protected against overheating to prolong the life of your shredder. A dustproof enclosure houses the durable gears to help avoid corrosion.
- Able to handle up to 26 sheets, the wide 16 inch paper entry easily takes in stapled and paperclipped documents as well as credit cards and CDs. A photo cell sensor detects when paper is inserted and begins shredding instantly. During use, the Electronic Control Capacity indicates the exact shredding capacity available. The hardened steel cutting shafts dice up paperwork at an impressive 25 feet per minute, ensuring you spend less time shredding and have more time for important tasks.
- The wooden cabinet holding the machine is fitted with a pull-out bag frame on rollers for easy removal and replacement of the 53 gallon shred bag. The wood acts as a noise reducer by taking in some of the sound waves, resulting in a quieter shredding experience.
Weaknesses:
- The small cross cut particles only rate a level 3 security. Many offices consider this adequate for most confidential documents. However, if you have a higher volume of riskier documents to dispose of, you might prefer the Micro Cut version of this model.
- Weighing 227 pounds, this shredder is a heavy piece of office equipment. But it is mounted on casters, which makes it easier to move around, and we don’t think this will be much of an issue for most users.
