How do you use the new banker’s tray in Monopoly?

We used to have the old game where the tray for the money has just flat slots… now they have parts that are raised up… different slots have different parts raised, and the end ones are still flat. how do we use it? It doesn’t make sense!
The instructions do not say anything about how to use it. They just say to use it.

Stand the money up in the slots in the middle 3 sections. Put the house/hotels in one end section and fit the title deeds into the other.
