Laser Level Surveying
There are many types of laser equipment surveyors will rely on when they are carrying out any kind of laser level surveying. In most cases they will use this equipment to ensure that something which is being built or hung remains level at all times. In this article we will take a look at some of the kinds of laser level equipment you can now buy.
Certainly because there are so many different kinds of laser equipment that can be used both by DIY enthusiasts or professionals actually choosing the right one can be extremely difficult. But below hopefully by knowing about what is available through the list we provide below will make the decision a little bit easier for you in the future.
1. Plumb and Dot Lasers – These are laser levels which produce either one or multiple dots of reference on what ever surface they are aimed at. They are specifically designed to provide you with a reference point which then can work back to when measuring and ensuring that work carried out or being done is level.
2. Laser Line Generators (Line Level Lasers) – This type of laser emits a line that is level across the area where it is being aimed at. Often these type will only allow the level line to be emitted in one direction. More often used inside rather than out and are small enough to be held in the hand, or they can be placed on another surface such as the steps of a ladder, a desk or mounted on a jamb pole thus using the person’s hands free to do other tasks.
3. Rotary Level Lasers – This will emit a single laser line but in a rotating fashion, so rather than being directed on to one wall it will show a line around the complete circumference of the room being surveyed. Such pieces of laser level surveying equipment can be quite large and cumbersome and will therefore come with a tripod stand on which they are placed generally in the center of the room being checked.
As well as the way in which these laser levels emit their lights you can either have a manual levelling or ones that self level or automatically level themselves. Certainly many surveyors who in order to save time and money prefer to use the automatic or self levelling types of laser level surveying equipment. The reason for this being that if at any time the equipment happens to get accidentally knocked or the platform on which it stands is jarred then it will it will automatically start levelling it self again. So there is no need for the surveyor to be constantly stood beside it and holding it as the surveying is done.
