2001 BMW 325i Rod knock?
I have a worn out clutch and a faint rod knock in My BMW. I want to put in a full remanned engine. i like jasper but they don’t list one for My car. what is a good inexpensive company to find a remanned engine for My BMW?
@patrick_hiestand I know its a rod baring. i am a chrysler master tech and engine specialist. i know the sound. this car has a dual mass flywheel on it which i know can make similar sounds. Buts its not i can tell.
A rod knock sound can be a lot of things other than internal engine. Could be the clutch itself. Better do some more investigating yourself or by a tech. Best to have a really good idea of what the sound is before you condemn the engine.
Added later. The problem IS the DUAL mass flywheel. Change it with a new or known good one and the noise will go away. 22 years BMW tech ASE mater tech yada yada yada..
