The KeyDemon hardware keylogger solution

Familiar with the hardware keylogger concept? A hardware keylogger is an ideal solution for monitoring a computer user’s activity. A hardware keylogger is a pure electronic device, requiring no additional software or drivers, and no access to the operating system. A hardware keylogger leaves no traces behind, and is completely undetectable to software and security scanners.

What are the applications of the KeyDemon hardware keylogger? One of the questions that should be answered at this point, is if using a hardware keylogger is legal. Technically speaking, you should contact a lawyer to get detailed information about the local laws, and the application for which you intend to use a hardware keylogger. Generally it’s permitted to monitor your own computer, meaning you can watch what your kids and family are doing on the computer. If you want to monitor your employees, or perform any other type of surveillance, you should display a clear notice about this fact. It is obviously NOT LEGAL to use this device for any type spying, or stealing confidential data.

KeyDemon offers a broad range of hardware keylogger devices. The entry level KeyDemon USB and KeyDemon PS/2 have 4MB or 2GB of built-in memory, meaning years-worth of typing. Installing a KeyDemon hardware keylogger takes a few seconds, and requires no additional software or drivers. Simply plug the keylogger in-line between the keyboard and USB or PS/2 port. Keystroke logging will start automatically. To view recorded data, use a 3-key combination supplied with every device. This will switch the hardware keylogger into a removable flash disk, containing a text file with all the logged keystroke data.

In some applications, it’s important to collect information not only about what was typed, but also when it was typed. For this purpose, the KeyDemon TimeKeeper USB and TimeKeeper PS/2 were created. These keylogger devices inherit all the functionality of the standard series, and additionally contain a built-in timestamping module and battery. The timestamping module will keep track of the current time and date, and place special time- and date-stamps in the log file. The TimeKeeper keylogger series contains 2 Gigabytes of built-in memory.

The hardware keylogger concept inherits one weakness: physical access to the keylogger is required for retrieving captured data. KeyDemon also offers a solution to this problem: a Wireless Keylogger. The KeyDemon Wi-Fi Premium wireless keylogger is packed with state-of-the-art electronics: two powerful processors, a full TCP/IP stack, a WLAN transceiver, and 2 Gigabytes of memory. How does it work? Besides standard PS/2 and USB keylogger functionality, it features remote access over the Internet. This wireless keylogger will connect to a local Wi-Fi Access Point, and send E-mails containing recorded keystroke data. You can also connect to the keylogger at any time over TCP/IP and view the captured log. All this is a device less than 2 inches (5 cm) long. Additionally, the KeyDemon Wi-Fi Premium control software can communicate with multiple Wi-Fi hardware keyloggers, allowing creating entire networks of wireless keyloggers. The latest line of hardware keyloggers from KeyDemon is the Nano series, including the KeyDemon Nano 8MB and KeyDemon Nano Wi-Fi 8MB. Simply connect this tiny video-logger to the computer’s DVI, VGA, or HDMI port, and it will automatically take a snapshot every few seconds. To view the recorded images, simply switch the VideoGhost to flash drive mode, and it’ll pop-up as a removable disk containing recorded JPEGs. This tiny patent-pending frame-grabber is the first of its kind available on the market!
