Learn About Poly Tarps And Their Uses
Poly tarps can be used for various reasons around the home, at a construction place or any other similar place. You can use one to cover your equipment and any other machinery, which lies outside your home, a construction site, manufacturing site or other places. Instead of leaving gardening equipment like a lawn mover or lawn sweeper lying around outside without any cover, use a tarp. The same goes with a car, truck or 4-wheel drive.
By protecting your vehicle and equipment against dust and ravages of weather, they might be able to last longer. Tarps or tarpaulins are usually made of canvas cloth or plastics such as polyethylene and polypropylene. However, poly tarps normally refer polyethylene ones.
Such a tarp is usually waterproof. Hence, it gives good protection against rain or moisture. It is usually made of two or more layers of polyethylene sheets. Normally, a layer of woven mesh fabric is inserted between two layers.
Other than covering items around the house, you can use a poly tarps as shelter for your gardening plants, which can grow with little light. In the event there is a roofing damage, a plastic tarpaulin makes a good roofing cover for as long as three months or so. Normally, tarps are available in many colors, strengths or weights and measurements.
Weights are categorized as super heavy duty, heavy duty and medium duty based on thickness of tarpaulins. If you wish to use a poly tarpaulin for temporary protection, a medium duty one might be enough. For longer periods, it would be better to use super heavy duty or heavy-duty poly tarps.
To summarize, you can use poly tarps for various purposes. Since these tarps are waterproof, they make good cover for vehicles, gardening equipment, machinery and such items. You can also one to cover your roof on a temporary basis if it needs repair. Another usage of a poly tarp is as shelter for plants, which require little light for their growth.
