How do you dig up buried trees and roots without killing yourself?
Ok, my husband is building a pole barn, he rented a power auger from the local hardware store to dig the holes for the posts. Well, he ran into debris in 9 of the holes, about 2 – 2 1/2 feet down. Ranging from logs and stumps to solid concrete and even aluminum siding. I guess the last owners just knocked things over and buried them where they were when they had the yard filled. I cant stand to see him busting his *** digging around these things and then cutting them out if there is an easier way. If any of you happen to know an easier way please let me know asap. Thanks in advance.
On those tree stumps,you can rent whats called a “stump grinder”. They’re available thru most tool rental places. the tool can grind about a foot below the surface,thus removing the stump as well as roots
