Tips for achieving higher rifle tosses – colorguard?
I’ve been trying to get my rifle tosses up to par and have been having trouble getting the proper rotation. Is there any other tips for achieving higher tosses (fives, sixes) with more ease other that lifting weights?
You get much better rotation on a rifle if you go for rotation only and not height. While you’re trying to get the rifle up higher, you take away power going towards the rotation. If you are doing a normal toss, make sure you have your left hand under the nose, and your right hand right on the middle of the butt.
Make sure you plié slightly or more deeply depending on high powerful you want the toss to be. As you release, pull the rifle down with your right hand more (as to keep it about eye level). TRUST ME. I couldn’t even throw a 4 before my instructor taught me this.
