How do I mount foldable tires?
I just bought a set of new foldable tires for my road bike but I don’t know how to mount them on my wheels. Any tips on installation?
They really aren’t any different than tires with a wire bead. There are many different techniques. I put one bead over the rim and then rotate it around the wheel so that the brand name is right by the valve stem hole. Then I put just enough air into the tube so that it can hold its shape. Put the valve stem through the hole in the rim. Then, push the tube into the tire. Then slide the other bead over the rim. Check all the way around both sides of the tire to make sure that the tube doesn’t poke out from under the tire before pumping up the tube to your regular pressure.
