How can I clean the inner lens(the mirror etc) of my Digital camera?
I have some tiny specks on the mirror of the inside of my Canon Digital camera. I want to make sure it’s ok to clean it and how to do it
I think a couple of answers are confusing the mirror with the sensor. The mirror is pretty robust – it has to be to handle the high speed flip when you press the shutter release.
To be absolutely sure you don’t fire the shutter while you are doing it take out the battery.
Hold the camera up with the opening pointing downwards so the dust you dislodge falls out of, not into the camera; brush the mirror surface very lightly with a small SOFT artists paintbrush.
Don’t blast it with air or you may blow the dust into the sensor.
Are you sure it is on the mirror and not the base of the pentaprism (the horizontal surface above the mirror – same technique applies.
