What do I do if my 1 week-old tattoo is slightly infected?
I got a few stars on my left hip about a week ago. Had some trouble with thicker scabbing (which I never had before with my other 5 tats) – now it looks like one corner of one of the stars has a little grey hole that doesn’t seem to dry up and it’s a little red around the edges. How do I prevent further scarring?
You don’t want to touch it much at all right now. To keep your stars looking like stars for life don’t do anything to that area. Let it heal as much on its own as you can.
Use a mild antiseptic like witch hazel. Pour it over or put it on a cotton swab and dab it on gently. Air dry then put a healing ointment on it like vitamin E cream or neosporin. Cover it with a bandage large enough th keep the sticky stuff off your new ink.
