1992 VW Jetta – How many wires should be going to the little flat posts on the solonoid. Only 1 wire found?
A lot of taped-up wires make me suspicious that the problem is within a wire which I haven’t been able to find or bad wires are causing a break in continuity. Battery has plenty of juice but even that cable has a lot of tape around the end that connects to the solonoid.Anyone have this problem with the Jetta?
Should have one for the automatics and two for the stick shifts (one is a clutch cut out and on a separate post)
Bentley (the book not the car) makes a real good wiring schematic on the dubs that will benefit you more than anything else. You have a previous owner that was a patch it up and let it go kind of driver (way too many of those by the way) and you are just going to have to sort it out and properly repair the wiring before it leaves you stranded.
