question about my trucks ignition?
ok, I have asked several questions on this subject already, and you have all been very helpful, but I have yet another question on that subject. I bought the actuator rack that pulls the linkage to start the truck, and it actually works, but, when I tried to turn the switch back to shut it off, it would not turn off, almost like the actuator was not long enough, but its the same length of the one that broke, and that one was original equipment. so whats the deal, why wont the truck shut off, I cannot keep popping the clutch in first gear just to make it shut off. I dint know what to do, and its driving me crazy, the truck has been down now for 4 weeks, so I have to get it running, obviously I am not a trained mechanic, Im only playing shade tree weekend warrior with the thing right now cuz its all the time I have to work on it, so if there are any mechanics who know what I am talking about, and have some idea on how to fix it, please let me know!!!!!!!!!!
Is it the right actuator? The Tilt columnn actuator is different. Also check that it is not binding up in the columnm Unhook it from the switch and work it to be sure the key switch and rod are free, if they are then the electricall switch is bad or the wrong one (I believee there were two different ones for your truck) Let me know if this helps.
