Should students have psychological testing as a requirement for high school entrance?
I was driving Thursday in the late morning when I heard my phone beep…indicating a texted message ” bomb threat evacuating the school I love you” It was from my daughter. I exited off the 101 and headed toward my child’s school Cornoa Del Sol Tempe, AZ. I was denied access to the school parking lot as well as to my child. I was redirected to a nearby church , where I could see the students in the stadium engaged in a lock down. I began thinking God forbid if a bomb did go off I would literally be watching my child and many others die. I felt very isolated, helpless and violated of my parental right to have access to my child. I do undestand why things are done like this but it would not make me feel better if my daughter had been killed. I began thinking what can we do now to help prevent and provide assitance in spotting troubled students in schools,who may have a tendancy toward violence etc.
That would scare me so bad!!!
I home school, big sacrifice but worth every bit of it! Check into it, there are thousands of kids if not more out there. these and other reasons I decided to do it. Yes it is so worth it. We didn’t know if we could do it $ wise but believe in it, you’ll find ways.
I do think that public schools are a reason kids get ‘messed up’ in there thinking, the labels, the bullies and the pressure of it all. You’d be surprised what home schooling can do for your child, there is always groups and trade offs where you teach days and other moms help you, not to mention for the social aspects of it sports or scouts, there are ways but you have to decide how important is it. To me priceless.
I don’t have to worry about that, but I feel for the ones that do.
