from air national guard to active duty air force?
I have been in the Air National Guard for over a year now, i have been to basic and tech school and all of that good stuff, but i want to switch over to active duty, is it possible to switch?
It is possible, but it is not easy.
Basicly the Active Air Force , has to need your AFSC
So you will have to go to a regular Air Force recruiter and ask him, he has a list, that list what AFSC’s they are looking for and at what rank.
IE: They might be looking for a sra in XXXXX afsc and for E-5′s in YYYYY afsc.
Then you have to get released from your Air National Guard unit.
And that will depend on what thier policy is.
2. Go talk to the AF recruiter and find out if its even possible for you with your AFSC to go on active duty, before you mention it to your Guard unit.
