Which miter saw stand to buy?
I have a DeWalt DW716 12″ double bevel compound miter saw. Trying to decide between the DW723 and DWX723. The DWX is an inch shorter has quick releases for the stop extensions and supports 500 pounds vs 400 for the DW. The DW has screw knobs for the extensions. Just wondering if the older one may be a little better as in sturdiness. Lowes is not replacing the DW with the DWX but is instead carrying both and they’re the same price. So which would you guys go with? The saw itself is only about 40 lbs so I have no idea why you would need anywhere close to 400 let alone 500lbs of support. The DWX also has new mount attachments that won’t work with the DW. Opinions …..
If you are a finish carpenter using the saw as a precision cutting tool then the extra sturdiness probably isn’t important. If you are a landscaper using the saw to cut 4x4s and hog out 2x10s for a deck then 100 lbs of extra abuse-ability might be a better call. I think I would go for the extra muscle.
