Cut Pro

I have final cut pro and I want to put a video of me ontop of a stationary background. How do I do that?
What I want to do is have a moving video of a person transposed onto a background. I don’t want to have to cut out every frame of the person in the original video, as this takes forever and doesn’t even look very good. An example of a final product of this idea would be a video of someone dancing on a background of the moon. Does this effect require a green screen? And if so, can Final Cut Pro do green screen? What editing software does?
The answer is yes, you either have to rotoscope (cut out) the video, or you have to shoot the foreground content in front of a chroma green or blue screen (color keying). Final Cut does an excellent job with color keying. Select your Effects tab in the browser > Video Filters > Key. Then select either ‘Blue and Green Screen’, ‘Chroma Keyer’, or ‘Color Key’. The rest of the effects in the Key folder are for after you apply the keyer. As to which of these effects works best, it’s sort of alchemy. My advice before you shoot the video is to make sure the background is evenly lit with no shadowy areas and that you avoid any “bounce”, which is when the green or blue shows up in the foreground object. Usually their hair or the fibers of their clothing.
