what causes copper gas tubing to corrode?
the copper gas tubing that brings gas to my heater has a hole about 1/4 inch diameter on it and a blueish
green build up around the hole, the line was above the ground, what could be the cause of that?
First off, I hope that you have called either your gas company or a licensed plumber to help fix this problem since you probably have a gas leak. If not, you should close the valve leading into the gas meter and call them immediately from a neighbors house. Do not turn on or off any electrical devices including light switches.
The cause of the corrosion is probably due to the natural gas or the additives in it.
