Dentist who accept Medicaid…good or bad thing?
i have keystone mercy and i went to the dentist and was told i have 23 cavities and need 3 root canals. i was at a different dentist last year when i was still covered under my parents insurance which was blue cross blue shield and was told that my teeth were fine, no cavities or anything. i think that the dentist i just went to is lieing to me, i dont think i need that much work done. ive also read online that dentist who accept medicaid can rip you off or try and do work you dont need. does anyone know if this is true or have you had a similar experience? ill be going back to my old dentist which doesnt accept medicaid and be paying cash cause i trust him more…any suggestions?
also i had xrays done the other day at the dentist and want to ask if i can have them for when i go to my old dentist. im preg and i dont want to have to have more xrays done which will cost more money. am i able to get them from the last dentist i seen or will i not be able to have them?
I would definitely listen to your gutt. I think going back to ur original dentist is wise. In my experience, dentist who except Medicaid has a much higher volume of patients due to the fact they don’t get much compensation per patient. Which means the quality of care suffers. If you have a choice I would see a dentist who doesn’t except Medicaid.
Also, they should definitely give you your xrays. You could even ask for a copy of your entire chart if you wanted to.
