What is the best method to keep a Composite Blade from wearing down?
I just got a one piece composite stick (it’s a synergy stick game used by Malmivaara?) anyway, I want to use it for roller hockey. the surface is not as rough as asphalt, but not as smooth as a regulation roller hockey rink, it feels kinda like a tennis court…but smoother….
what is the best way to keep the blade from wearing down? stick wax on the bottom of the blade? lay off the slap shots?

TAPE the S out of it, but honestly unless you are using an older model I think its sort of pointless cause its gonna wear down and you are gonna be shelling out a lot of money. Also I think that you dont see as much of a difference between sticks in roller hockey as you do in ice. Are you using a ball?
Waxing definitely helps on the outside of the tape on the bottom of the blade.
Slap shots definitely hurt.
Tape Tape Tape. What I do for non ice is I tear the tape lengthwise to get thin strips and put a few just along the blade edge and then tape over the top as normal so I get a double or triple layer just on the bottom edge. It seems like once the tape starts to go ur done.
Bottom line. If you are using a ball for roller hockey I dont think you see the benefits as much from a composite stick over wood. And if you are using a ball you can get those wristers flying without a slapshot. Personally I dont use composite unless Im okay with it getting damaged.
