Points To Consider When Buying Scissor Lifts
Scissor Lifts are very simple types of lifts that raise or lower a platform. These lifts are also called as platform lifts or lift tables. Typically, a platform lift is made up of the lower frame assembly, the upper platform, and the middle scissor legs.
The Double Scissor Lift
A variant of these lifts is the double scissor lift, which is a heavy-duty version of the aforementioned lifts. Generally, the double platform lift has heavy duty hydraulic cylinders and has spherical bearings with grease fittings. One thing that is common in most platform lifts is the ability to support lots of weight in the air, which is very different from the conventional aerial lifts and boom lifts.
Uses Of Platform Lifts
You will find platform lifts being used in warehouses or storage buildings. In a warehouse or storage building there is a great need of such lifts that can be used as elevated platforms. The platform lifts are also frequently used because of the cost factor. The platform lifts are not very expensive and are a cheaper alternative to larger cranes or other lifting machines. Due to the compact nature of the platform lifts, you will not have any parking problem. As a business owner, you will have to check out the pros and cons of the platform lift and then decide on whether you need to buy it or not. If cost is problem, you may want to get these lifts on rent.
On the basis of mobility, the scissor lifts or platform lifts are divided into two types. The first type is the fixed platform lift and the second type is the mobile platform lift. Make a good assessment of the requirement and then make a decision of selecting the right kind of platform lift.
